There are a few ways donations can be entered into MyGiving.Online, including (but not limited to) individuallyin a gridby nameref. or envelope and as anonymous cash gifts


Depending on the type of donations you receive, you will need to input them into MyGiving.Online differently. 

 



Entering Donations Individually 

 

To enter a donation into MyGiving.Online on its own, select Gifts > Enter Donations Individually from the dashboard.

Note: Depending on access level, you may need to enter the Charity and/or Branch. 

 

Use the presented fields to fill in the information needed to be stored in MyGiving.Online, including the charity/branch the donation is going to, the personal information of the donor, and specific information pertaining to the donation. 

You can select the type of donation it is at the top of the screen. 


Once you have inputted the relevant information, click Save at the bottom of the screen. You will be told your gift was saved successfully. 

 



Entering Donations in a Grid 

 

The purpose of this option is to allow you to enter multiple donations from people into MyGiving.Online all at once instead of one at a time. To begin, select Gifts > Enter Donations in a Grid from the dashboard.

Use the drop-down menus to select the Charity and Branch.


 You will then see the following screen:

Select the purposes from the donations you are looking to include, either using the tick boxes for manual selection or the Include All and Exclude All buttons to add or remove them all. Then use the options below to select the donors related to the donations you are looking to input. 


Click next to continue to the following screen:

Enter the total amount of donations into the Control Total box at the top of the screen. The control total is used to check that the recorded donations are equal to the amount of donations you have noted down

You can use the options at the top to fill in the fields below if all donors share the same dates, payment methodspurposes or claim for tax on their donations. Otherwise, you can input the information manually using the drop-down menus in the list below. 

Use the Show Donors options to choose which donors’ donations you want to see in the list. If you need to reset any of the columns, tick the boxes under Reset Columns and select Reset. Once you have completed your information input, select Transfer. 

 

You will receive a popup message saying your gifts have been successfully transferred to your donor records. You will also be given the option to preview and download an audit report to put on your computer. 



 

Entering Donations via Name, Envelope or Ref. 

 

The purpose of this option is to allow you to record donations that can only be identified by name, envelope number, or reference number. To begin, select Gifts > Enter Donations by Name, Envelope or References from the dashboard.

Select Add New to add a new donation.

Use the search filters at the top to look for the donor associated with the name, envelope number or reference number on your donation. Once you have found the donor you are looking for, click Select next to their entry.

Use the fields above to enter the necessary information pertaining to the donation before clicking Save. This will move the entry to the grid below ready to be transferred. If necessary, you can repeat the process for further donations. Once all donation entries have been entered and saved, click Transfer. 

 

You will receive a popup message saying your gifts have been successfully transferred to your donor records. 

You will also be given the option to preview and download an audit report to put on your computer.
