So what is Error 1046


Essentially this error from the HMRC system is reporting that the information you have submitted doesn’t match the information that they have on record for you or you are submitting the claim to the wrong location.

I’m using the latest versions what else could it be?


If you are using Donations Co-ordinator V7 or MyGiving.Online and still receiving the 1046 error this means that the information you have entered into one of our programs doesn’t match the information the HMRC have on record for your organisation.

To confirm the details you will need to contact the HMRC on 0300 123 1073 and confirm that the following information in Donations Co-ordinator or MyGiving.Online EXACTLY matches what they have in their records:

1. The Church/Charity name
2. Authorised official’s Title, Forename and Last name
3. Authorised official’s address
4. Authorised official’s Postcode
5. The User ID refers to this particular authorised official
6. The User ID is authorised to submit claims on behalf of that church/charity
 Our understanding is that the User ID refers to a person and not a church or charity. Therefore if the authorised official changes then the details in our programs INCLUDING the User ID should also change.
