You can use MyGiving.Online bank import facility to import transactions directly from a downloaded bank statement rather than entering all donations manually.  This will greatly reduce the time spent entering data.

To begin, select Admin > Import > Bank Statement > Import CSV from the dashboard. You will see the following screen:

Before you import your bank statement, you will need to create a bank statement template. Each bank will have a different format for exported bank statements, so creating a template allows MyGiving.Online to import the information using the correct format. If you have not created a bank statement template already, click Add New

You will see the following screen:

Type in the name you wish to give to the template and enter the cell address where the transactions will start at before clicking Save to return to the import screen. If you need additional help, select Click for More Help underneath the boxes.

With your template created, select your template from the drop-down menu and then click Choose File to select the bank statement you want to import from your computer. Once done, click Import to begin the import of your bank statement into MyGiving.Online.

If you’ve created a new template, you will have to map the imported columns and save them before you can continue.

If you have used an existing template you would see the following appear on the bottom of the screen:

MyGiving.Online has read the information from the bank statement and imported it onto the system. You can now view the imported columns and decide which ones you want to show using the drop-down menus.

Under DonorPurpose and Method, make sure the correct donors, purpose and payment method have been assigned to each donation. If you need to add extra donations or remove a donation from any of the rows, you can use the Add and Remove buttons. If you’re claiming tax on any of these donations, make sure the Claim Tax box has been ticked.

Use the Map To Column drop-down menus to map any donation information to a specific column. If you want MyGiving.Online to remember any reoccurring donors and donations, use the Map Donors button at the bottom. If you want MyGiving.Online to remember any mappings for future imports, click the Save Mappings button.

If you only want specific donations to be imported into MyGiving.Online, select the tick boxes individually beside each donation under the Confirm column. Alternatively, you can select the tick box right at the top to automatically include all the donations.

Once you have selected the donations you want to import, select Import Donations at the bottom. You will be asked if you want to audit this into a report before you continue. If you select Yes, you can preview and download a report of your imported donations onto your computer. Selecting No will return you to the import screen.

Regardless of which option you choose, a message will appear to confirm your donations were imported successfully.
